The consistency and frequency of practice is more important than the amount of time practiced. Daily practice for modest amounts of time yields better results than taking many days off, followed by "cramming" lots of practice time in. Musical abilities should be cultivated like a garden that receives adequate daily sunshine and water. The best students make practice an almost daily habit.
